Incident:
I really can’t remember when the last time was that we had, say, 3 sunny days in a row. It has been a miserable “spring” in the Pacific Northwest. For the 5 years I have lived here, this is first time I have ever complained about the weather here. If you know me, you know that to be true. But what could be done?

Resolution:
It is probably too soon to call this a resolution, really. And here I find tech support a little bit sticky. :-) . However, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I thought and thought about it, and thought the best way to get the sun back was a native american way. I remember that years ago, someone gave me a book on Pacific Northwest Indian Myths, and since, at the time, I lived in Arizona, I did not give it much thought then. Of course I kept it. I you know me, you know that to be true. I poured through the book looking for clues on how to bring the sun back. And, almost accidentally, I found it! I found the legend of how the Sun was Stolen. Based on that myth, I have decided to perform a ritual offering to Raven. I will ask Great Spirit to guide me. I will offer Raven an arrow (which the universe provided; as I walked my dog tonight, I found a kids toy suction arrow. Don’t tell me the universe doesn’t have a sense of humor!) and some camas, along with sage and song. I will comment on how things turn out.

(This is a repost from the original blog, published June 2008.)

Hello All!

Welcome to my blog. I hope it helps you to answer questions and get suggestions about spirituality and magic. I have been practicing magic for 33 years now. Of course, what that really means is that I practice occasionally – sometimes with years or months between any important bit of magic…

I am employed in the IT arena as a Technical Account Manager for a major ESP. I hope to use the same methods I use in solving technical problems in solving technical problems of the soul.

My beliefs and practices are sometimes complicated and contradictory, but so has my journey been. A good definition for me would be a Chaos Magician, but many other labels certainly also fit. I use tools and concepts from a wide, wide range of belief systems, and non-belief systems.

And if there is one thing that I REALLY believe in, it’s “Use your tools!”
